To Add Instrument by Placing on an Existing Loop

  1. Select an option from the Instruments gallery. (Example: Discrete Instruments)
  2. Place the instrument in the drawing connected (either directly or using the leader line) to an instrument on an existing loop. For example,
Tip: Right click after placement if you choose not to use the leader line.
Note: Suffix is added to the instrument tag if you have same Device Type Code and Number for two instruments.
The Properties dialog displays with updated tag Information. For example,
Note: By default, the Plant Area, Device Type Code, Number property defined for the loop are inherited by the instruments placed on the loop. These properties can be overridden when defining properties for the individual instruments on the loop.
  3. Define the component properties for the instrument.
  4. Press OK.
  5. Right-click to end the command. When a new instrument is attached to an existing loop, it is automatically added to the loop. You can check this by selecting the instrument just placed. You will notice that all of the instruments on the loop will be highlighted.
